Belle and Achilles - are mother and son. Belle is 9 years old while Achilles is 5 years old. They were both quite shy when they arrived but they have settled in well and are now affectionate and playful.
Tia & Baileys - are a pair of cats, mother and son, who need a home together. Tia is tortoiseshell and 9 years old while Baileys is ginger and 8 years old. They can be a bit shy with strangers and probably need a quiet home without children or other animals. They had been living with an aggressive dog but since they came to us they have made good progress and are much braver. They will just need time in the right home to regain their confidence.
Timothy - is a lovely young tabby cat, about 5 months old. He has recently been neutered and is now in need of a home, ideally with another young cat for company.
Henry and Thomas - met while they were in our care residing in cathouses opposite each other. As they showed a lot of interest in each other we introduced them and they have become friends. Henry is white and black, young, perhaps 2 years old and originally a stray in Henley. Thomas is a young tabby and white cat, perhaps a year old and a stray from Crowthrone. Both have been neutered while in our care and are now looking for a home together.
Baxter and Simba - are a pair of young (8/9 month old) black and white cats. When Baxter was found in Reading he had a can of Baxter's soup stuck over his mouth and nose - presumably he was trying to find something to eat. Simba was a stray in Maidenhead and had been found living in a car. Neither cat had been neutered so this has now been done. The two cats have become friends whilst in our care and are now looking for a home together.
Brandy & Tigger - are beautiful 9 year old sisters. Brandy is tortie/tabby and white while Tigger is all tabby. They are lovely, affectionate cats and need a home together.
Snowy & Felix - are 6 years old. Snowy is a white and grey female and Felix a grey and white male. They are lovely, friendly cats and get on well together. Snowy and Felix were rehomed but sadly had to be returned to us because they would not accept another cat already in the home. They therefore need a home without other cats although they might be ok with a dog.
Millie - is a beautiful, friendly, dark tortoiseshell 12 year old cat. Millie loves people but not other cats! She was abandoned in a carrier with a note asking us to find her a new home. From what we know we can only presume that her elderly owner has either died or been taken into care. She is currently undergoing a geriatric health check but when passed fit to rehome we will rehome her under the "Golden Oldie" scheme which means that the charity will pay for any reasonable veterinary treatment she may need in the future.
Dizzie - is a small, talkative, black and white male cat, about 8 years old who came into our care following the sudden death of his owner. Dizzie is used to having someone around a lot so would not suit anyone who is out at work all day. He will make someone a lovely companion.
Freya and her kitten - are looking for a home together. Freya was a stray who arrived at TVAW heavily pregnant and gave birth to three kittens soon after arriving. Two kittens have already been rehomed but now Freya, who has been spayed, is looking for a home together with her daughter. They are both all black, lovely and friendly and devoted to each other.
Fluff and her kitten - are looking for a home together. Fluff is a tabby, about a year old, and needs a home with her tabby and white male kitten with whom she is very strongly bonded. They are both very friendly and would make good family pets. Fluff has been spayed.
Holly - was a stray in Wokingham. She is quite distinctive as she only has three legs, one having being amputated at some time in the past, but sadly we have not been able to trace an owner. Holly is all black, about 8 years old and extremely affectionate. The lack of a hind leg does not seem to worry her at all!
Susie - is a very affectionate dark tortoiseshell cat. Although she is thought to be only just over a year old she had already had two litters of kittens before she came into our care. As a result Susie is really tiny and will probably always be a small cat. She has been spayed and is now ready for a new home.
Domino - is a handsome white and black cat who was a stray in Henley. We think he is no more than 3 years old. He has been neutered and is now looking for a new home. Domino is a very friendly boy.
Cleo - is a 14 month old tortoiseshell cat. She is very affectionate, loves to be picked up and would probably make a good family pet. Cleo had been taken to a vet by her owner who had requested that she be put to sleep because she was no longer wanted.
Marmite - is a very pretty 2 year old semi long haired tortoiseshell cat who is used to living in an adult only home.
Minnie - was found in a disused factory with three kittens. Her kittens have all been rehomed and she has been spayed. Minnie is a tiny cat, less than a year old. Before she came into TVAW's care she had suffered very badly from mastitis and suckling her kittens must have been exceedingly painful. Although she is clear of the infection now and in very good health she does not like to be touched underneath or picked up because she still remembers the pain she must have suffered. Apart from that she is a friendly cat but she does need a home with an understanding owner, with no children or other animals.
Sydney - was a stray in Reading. He is a small, very affectionate semi-longhaired black cat. As he is microchipped we thought that we would be able to trace his owner but sadly neighbours told us that the owner had moved away last October and left him behind. He had struggled to survive in the centre of Reading but after lots of rest, good food and TLC he is now eagerly looking forward to having a good new home.
Oliver and Rocky - are a lovely pair of friendly 4 year old tabbies who need a home together. Oliver is a brown tabby while Rocky is rather more of a grey tabby. They are brothers and are used to a rural or semi-rural home.
Oscar and Chico - are looking for a home together. Oscar is a 7 year old black and white cat while Chico, also black and white, is 2 years old. They have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped by their original owner and are a lovely pair of cats.
Alice and Daisy - are 6 year old sisters who need a new home together. Alice is black while Daisy is black and white. They are both affectionate cats who enjoy a fuss and a cuddle but have no experience of children so would suit an adult only home.
George - is a very friendly, 5 year old black and white cat who enjoys being brushed and stroked. He's a gentle giant who just loves human company but would like a home where he can be the centre of attention.
Amber - was a stray in Princes Risborough. Neighbours say she was left behind when her owners moved. She is a beautiful tortoiseshell female, about 7/8 years old, very friendly and might be happy living with another cat, probably a male cat.
Lulu - is a 4 year old tabby cat whose previous owner has died. Lulu was left for some time to fend for herself but she is responding well to good food and lots of TLC and will soon be ready for a new home.
Pudsey and Spooky - are a pair of very friendly female cats looking for a home together. Pudsey is a tabby and just coming up to her 6th birthday while Spooky is a lovely grey and white 4 year old.
Ben - is a lovely young Felix lookalike cat. He is just over a year old. Ben is nervous of young children so would be better in a home either with older children or an adult only home.
Charlie & Lola - are 2 year old, brother and sister cats. They are very friendly and have grown up in a family so are used to children. Charlie and Lola would make very good family pets.
Bonnie - is a very pretty tabby/tortie female cat, about 8 years old. Her elderly owners have both died and Bonnie is now homeless. She needs a similar home, with older people, without children or other animals.
Dottie - is a lovely young semi-longhaired tortoiseshell cat. She was a stray and arrived heavily pregnant. Her kittens have all been rehomed and Dottie has been spayed. She is very friendly towards people and loves other cats so we would like to rehome her where there is another young cat, preferably a neutered male, who needs company. Dottie does not like dogs.
Tabitha and Timmy - are mum and son. Tabitha is a beautiful young longhaired tortoiseshell and Timmy is tabby and white and about 12 weeks old. Tabitha was found in Henley but sadly two of her kittens had already died before we were contacted. Tabitha will be spayed and will be rehomed with her surviving son.
Sootie, Charlie and Henry - are a trio of young cats who would really like a home together as they are devoted to each other. They are 7 months old and neutered. Sootie is a fluffy black boy, Charlie is shorthaired black and Henry is shorthaired black and white. A lovely feline family!
Holly, Snowy and Felix - are a family of three 6 year old cats who have come into our care because of changing family circumstances. Holly is a fluffy brown tortie/tabby, Snowy is a white and grey female and Felix a grey and white male. As it is unlikely that a home could be found for all three cats we think that Holly might be happy rehomed on her own with Snowy and Felix being rehomed as a pair. They are all lovely, friendly cats.
Update July 2011 - Holly has now been rehomed but Snowy and Felix are still looking for a home together
Buttons, Orland and Dodo - are a family of young cats, 8 months old. Buttons is black and white, Orlando is grey and white while Dodo is tortoiseshell. They all get on very well together and are very friendly. They are used to young children and dogs. Although we would like to find a new home for them together we realise that that will be difficult. Either Buttons or Orlando might be suitable for rehoming to someone with another young cat which needs a companion leaving the other two to be rehomed as a pair.
Update July 2011 - Dodo has been rehomed so we are now looking for a home for Buttons and Orlando together
Ollie & Jessie - are a pair of ginger and white 2 year old male cats. They are very affectionate and are looking for a new home together. They lived with a dog in their previous home.
Kiki and Cola - need a home together. Kiki was a stray who came to us with three kittens. Two of her kittens have been homed together but now Kiki needs a home with her 9 week old kitten Cola. Kiki is probably under a year old and is due to be spayed shortly. Both mum and daughter are both very friendly, confident and playful.
Max & Jensen - are 10 month old black brothers looking for a home together. Lovely friendly cats, used to living with other cats.
Leila & Tia -
are a pair of 5 year old beautiful calico tortoiseshell cats who have come into our care following the sudden death of their owner. They are both very friendly and enjoy cuddles and being groomed. Typical torties, they have lots of character. Leila and Tia are not used to very young children but should be fine with older ones, although a home with just adults might suit them best.
Willow and her tortoiseshell kitten - are looking for a home together. Willow is a 2 year old, spayed, black cat while her 3 month old kitten, also female is a tortoiseshell. Both are very affectionate and playful.
Thomas - is a 6 year old black and white cat. He is a lovely gentle boy who would suit a home either with older people or possibly a home with quiet children. He has come into our care because his elderly owners are no longer able to care for him.
Thomas & Tabitha - are a lovely pair of tabbies, brother and sister, both about 9 months old. They are very affectionate and playful. Thomas, in particular, is very much a lap cat.
Howard - was a stray in Reading, possibly left behind when his owners moved away. He is a neutered male tabby. It is difficult to estimate his age but we think he is about 11/ 12 years old. Howard has recently had dental work carried out and has received a clean bill of health from the vet. However, in view of his age he is a candidate for our "Golden Oldie" scheme which means that the charity will help with the cost of any future veterinary treatment he may need. Howard is an affectionate cat who just needs a home for his retirement and a comfy lap.
Kitsey and Jess - are looking for a home together following the death of their owner. Kitsey is a black and white female cat, 7 years old, while Jess is white and black and 3 years old.
Although Jess was very timid when she first arrived she has now come out of her shell and is a real character. Both cats have a lovely temperament and enjoy being made a fuss of.
Mr Beaumont - is a very friendly black and white cat who is about 2/3 years old. Mr Beaumont is a gorgeous cat, affectionate & playful with bags of character.
Jess and her kitten - need a home together. Jess is a very small black female, 2 years old who needs a home with her black male kitten who is about 12 weeks old. They are very a friendly and would make good family pets. Both are used to children and have lived with dogs. Jess has been spayed but her kitten will have to be neutered when he is old enough.
Sooty - is a two year old black and white female cat. She is a very friendly cat but needs a home without other animals because she is allergic to certain types of cat food.
Bonny & Kitty - are a lovely pair of "Golden Oldie" cats. They are almost 15 years old and are looking for a home together where they can spend the last few years of their lives. They came into our care when their owner sadly lost her own home. They are in good health but financial help will be available from the charity should they develop any health problems. Bonny and Kitty are very friendly and love cuddles and company.
April - is a lovely friendly tortoiseshell cat. She was a stray, found in woods far from houses, and we think may have been dumped there on purpose. We think she is about a year old. April's original owners had not had her spayed so that has now been done and she is ready for a new home.
Charlie - is a handsome young tabby cat, probably about 18 months old. He was a stray in Maidenhead and had been badly treated by people who were trying to chase him away. Charlie is a lovely talkative boy who is now learning to trust people again. He is still frightened by loud noises and probably would not suit a family with young children but he has a forgiving nature and should settle into a new home reasonably quickly. Charlie might be happy living with another young cat.
Sylvester - is a 6 year old, very handsome silver tabby. Sylvester is very much a lap cat and is used to children but is frightened of dogs. We think a home without other animals would suit him best.
Lulu, Bobby and Mojo - are a family of black and white cats whom we would like to try to rehome together as they are so attached to each other. Mum, Lulu, is about 2/3 years old and has recently been spayed. Her sons Bobby and Mojo are about 12-18 months old and have been neutered. They are lovely, gentle, friendly cats and would suit a family home.
Lizzie - is a beautiful, black and white, 4 year old cat who is extremely affectionate and used to living with a family. She has been a much loved family pet and has only been given up for adoption very reluctantly.
Smokey - was a stray in Reading. He was in poor health, with breathing difficulties due to lungworm, but has made a full recovery and has been neutered. He is a lovely cat, probably about 3 years old, but needs a home without other animals and probably without any young children.
Minnie and Monty - are a young black and white female with her black and white son, about 12 weeks old, who would like a new home together. They are both very friendly and would make good family pets.
Harry - is a very friendly, young tabby and white cat. Although he was a stray he is very affectionate and would probably make a good family pet but he needs a home without other animals where he can be the centre of attention.
Alfie - is a friendly, young black longhaired cat who was a stray in Reading. He made himself at home in his cathouse very quickly and is very affectionate. Alfie will need an owner willing to groom him regularly as he did have matts in his coat when he arrived. We feel that he needs a reasonably quiet home, without young children.
Poppy - is a pretty 18 month old longhaired black cat who is affectionate but wary of young children.
Lucy - is a very affectionate 8 year old tabby and white cat who has come to us from a family who are moving house and sadly cannot take Lucy with them. She is talkative, friendly, used to older children but dislikes dogs.
Tulip - is a very friendly 6 year old tortoiseshell cat. She is very affectionate, loves being stroked and made a fuss of. Tulip is frightened of dogs and probably would not want to share a home with another cat but would make a lovely family pet. She has come from a family home where she has been much loved.
Lulu - is a beautiful young female, not quite a year old, with tortie/tabby/white markings. Lulu was
bought from a petshop for someone as a present when she was a very young kitten and although she has been well looked
after now needs a stable home. She is not used to living with other animals or young children.
While she has been with TVAW Lulu has made friends with a young ginger and white cat called Bobby. Bobby is about 9 months old and is a very friendly cat. We would therefore like to rehome these two cats together.
Lily & Smudge - are 5 month old kittens. They are both black and white and are brother and sister from the same litter. They are looking for a new home together.
Tom - is a large black and white boy. A was a stray so we are guessing at his age - probably about 9 years old. When he arrived he was not neutered so he was blood tested for FeLV/FIV, neutered and had some dental treatment. Tom is now a healthy cat but he is still very shy with people. He is what we call a special needs cat - Tom needs an understanding owner who will give him time to settle in a home and gain confidence without expecting much in return for a while. Tom is a rewarding but long term project!
Ollie - is a 7 year old black cat who is very friendly. He has lived with another cat but he does not like dogs.
Mattie - is a 3 year old longhaired tortoiseshell cat. Mattie is a very sweet natured and pretty cat who loves attention. When she arrived she had some very bad matts in her coat (hence her name!) so she needs an owner who has the time to groom her regularly. Mattie would like to be the centre of attention so probably needs a home without any other pets
Rupert - is a friendly tabby and white cat. He was a stray in Reading and came to us in quite a sorry state. However, veterinary treatment, good food , a warm place to sleep and TLC have worked their magic and Rupert is now ready for a new home. We think he is about 3 years old.
Alfie - is a black, longhaired cat who was a stray. He's made himself at home in his cathouse very quickly and is very affectionate. Alfie is a nice, straightforward cat who should settle into a new home easily but he will need an owner willing to groom him regularly as he did have matts in his coat when he arrived.
Leo and Amy - are brother and sister blue Persians looking for a home together with a garden. As with their breed they are loving and are great companions. They love human attention, are talkative and are great with children. They are 9 years old and in good health. The owner is no longer able to keep Leo and Amy but would like them to go to a new home directly from their current home
Noel - is a large, young, black cat. He was a stray in Burghfield Common and has been blood tested for FIV/FeLV and neutered. Noel is probably about a year old and is a nice, straightforward friendly cat.
Fluffy - is a pretty two year old brown tabby female who we feel must have been traumatised at some time because her first reaction to anything or anyone is to hiss. Once she learns to trust you she still hisses out of habit but she's actually very friendly. This puts off potential owners but she's really just a gentle cat who needs a quiet, understanding home. Fluffy gets on very well with other cats and kittens.
Oscar - is a big handsome tabby and white cat. He is a very affectionate cat. Oscar has had a good, loving home where he has been well cared for (neutered, vaccinated, microchipped ) but the arrival of young children has not worked out well for him. He needs a home where he can be the centre of attention, with no young children or other cats. Oscar is just about to celebrate his 10th birthday and a new home would be an ideal birthday present!
Tiny - is a very small, pretty female cat, probably about 18 months old. Tiny was originally a pregnant stray in Reading. She was taken in by a kind person who subsequently found homes for all of her kittens but was unable to keep Tiny any longer. She has bags of energy and once she has been spayed she will need a new home with someone who will give her lots and lots of attention. A family home would be ideal.
Harry and Holly - are 6 month old young cats who have just been spayed and neutered. They came to us because their owner was having to move to accommodation where he was not allowed pets. They are a delightful pair of playful and friendly young cats.
Toby - is a 3 year old black and white cat. He is very friendly with people but needs a home where he can be the centre of attention. He might settle in a home with a quiet dog but definitely no other cats as he's very jealous of other felines. He has not lived with young children.
Magic - is a very friendly 4 year old black male cat. Although he has lived mainly as an indoor cat he would probably appreciate being able to go outside. He is a very friendly cat and would be suitable for a family without very young children.
Charlie - was a stray in Henley and we believe was left behind to fend for himself when his owners moved away. He is probably about 4/5 years old and his coat is white with ginger patches. Charlie had spent quite a long time trying to feed himself by visiting homes in the area. When he arrived with TVAW he was desperate for every meal, fearing each one might be his last. He has now accepted that food comes regularly and has enjoyed being somewhere warm. All he needs now a good new home
Muffin - was a stray near Ascot. He is a large handsome boy with a tabby and white coat. When he was found he was not neutered but he has now been blood tested for FeLV/FIV and neutered. Muffin is a friendly, talkative cat but would probably be best rehomed as the only cat in the household. If you are looking for a cat with character then this is the cat for you! Muffin has enjoyed being warm and well fed this Christmas and now is ready for a home he can call his own.
Dudley and Alfie - are a pair of 5/6 month old young cats. Alfie is tabby while Dudley is ginger and white. They are lovely, friendly, playful young cats.
Sooty - is a big, bold cat who is probably about 2 - 5 years old. He was an unneutered stray in Reading so when he came to us we had him tested for FIV and FeLV before he was neutered. Sooty has recovered from his time spent trying desperately to find food and shelter and is friendly, affectionate and likes to play. He would probably suit a home where he can be the centre of attention and should make a good family pet.
Missy - was a stray in Hurst. She is a semi-longhaired brown tabby who has certainly had a loving home in the past because there is evidence that she has received veterinary treatment to an injured leg which has left her with a slight limp. She is getting on in years, perhaps 15 years old, but in good health. She will qualify for help under our Golden Oldie scheme which means that the charity will help with the cost of future veterinary costs.
Rascal - is a lovely 2 year old black and white male cat. He likes to be the centre of attention so would like a home without other cats although a friendly dog might be a possibility.
Abby and Becky - are a beautiful pair of tortoiseshell cats. As they were abandoned by their owner we know little about them but they seem to be quite young. They are very friendly and fine with children. They need a home together.
Lily and Misty - are a pair of 4 year old sisters. Lily is white with odd coloured eyes but is not deaf as are some white cats. Misty is tabby and white. They would make good family pets but are not suitable for a home with young children.
Alice - is a lovely black cat who neighbours think was abandoned by her owners over a year ago. We think she is about 3 years old. When she arrived she was so excited about having somewhere warm to sleep and food to eat that she couldn't stop purring and dribbling. She's quite a character and will make a lovely pet.
Beamer and Shimmer - are 8 months old, brother and sister. Shimmer is a fluffy tabby and white boy while Beamer is a very pretty cat, cream and white with brown points and blue eyes. They are lively, friendly cats.
Milo - is a 7 month old white and black male cat. He is frightened of dogs and small children but very sweet natured and friendly once he knows you.
Biggles - is a wonderfully friendly young male cat who has come to TVAW as a stray, possibly left behind when his owner moved away.
Jessica - is a lovely 5 month old black cat, very friendly and purrs a lot.
Katie and Copper - Katie is an 18 month old tortoiseshell cat who is to be rehomed with her son who is ginger and 5 months old. Katie is a small, slender cat with big eyes. She is shy with people she
does not know but affectionate once she has got to know you. Neither cat is very keen on being picked up but both enjoy being stroked and
Copper, in particular, has a big purr. They would best be suited to a quiet home without young children.
Smokey - is an 8 year old grey and white male cat, a lovely, friendly boy who likes to be the centre of attention so needs a home without other cats. He is worried by dogs and young children.
Keke - is an exceptionally friendly black and white cat who would probably settle with a family very quickly. She would probably be happy living with another cat.
Charlie - is a friendly black neutered male cat, about 11 months old. He was found as a stray in Reading but efforts to find his owner have failed so he is now looking for a new home
Purdy - is a lovely tortoiseshell female. She was a stray and when the people who found her were unable to find her owners they thought that they would like to keep her. Sadly their male cat thought otherwise. We think that she is about 3 years old. Purdy is a friendly cat who probably needs a home without other animals. (Ref. hfh)
Binx - is a very friendly pale ginger cat, about 18 months old. He is neutered, microchipped and
vaccinated but has been given up for rehoming because his owner is expecting a baby. Although he is a little timid with strangers at first he is an affectionate cat and loves being cuddled.
Penny - is a very sweet young female cat who came to us along with her six kittens. We usually like to rehome a mum with one of her kittens but in Penny's case she will be very happy when they all go off to new homes as she would very much like a bit of peace and quiet! Penny will be ready for a home of her own as soon as she has been spayed.
Jet - is a 4 year old black cat.He was a neglected cat who is now learning to trust his foster mum and enjoying gaining weight with as much food as he can eat. Although it is likely he will hide at first, a patient loving home will be rewarded by watching him gain in confidence.
Mitzi - is an exceptionally friendly 2 year old white female cat. She came to us with her 6 kittens who have now found good homes. Mitzi has been spayed and now needs a new home herself.
Cookie and Lissy - are a pair of one year old sisters. Cookie is a dark tortoiseshell and Lissy is a calico tortie (patches of black, ginger and white). They were rehomed by TVAW as kittens but very sadly their owner has died so they have come back to us while they wait for a new home. They were very timid when they arrived but they have settled down fairly quickly and are now very friendly. Cookie and Lissy probably need a quiet home without any other animals.
Lily - is a 2 year old ginger female. Lily's owner moved away and could not take her with her but she is a very friendly cat and has grown up with a dog.
Ellie - is a five and a half month old black kitten who came into our care but had to be separated from her mother who became very aggressive towards her. Ellie has learnt from her mum to dislike other cats so she needs a home on her own. She is a typical playful kitten and at her happiest when she has human company. Ellie has been spayed.
Mollie - is about 5 months old. She is very shy of strangers but is fine with Yvonne, her fosterer. Mollie needs a quiet home with someone who will enjoy building up her confidence. With time she will blossom into a lovely cat but the process cannot be rushed and her new owner will need to be patient. TVAW will support the owner as much as possible with help and advice.
Comfort and Kiwi - are a pair of 2 year old Tonkinese cats, sister and brother. They are typical of their breed - friendly and talkative, highly intelligent and needing someone at home for much for the day. Comfort (female) is vocal and playful. Kiwi (male) is very affectionate with people but very dominant towards other cats so needs a home in an area with few if any other cats in the immediate area. Although they are pedigree cats we do not have any paperwork for them and they have both been neutered. (The photos are not very good but give an idea of their colouring).
Torres - is a white male cat, 2 years old. He was a bit of a handful when he
arrived as he had not been neutered by his previous owners and had been the terror of
the neighbourhood. He has been tested for FELV and FIV and neutered and has calmed down
considerably. Torres has transformed into a super cat who is very friendly, with a big personality and might enjoy the company of another cat although would probably be just as happy as the only cat in the household.
Susie - is a young black and white cat who came to us heavily pregnant. She has been a very good mum to her kittens, all but two of whom have now been found good homes. Susie is about to be spayed and then will need a home of her own, either by herself or with her two remaining kittens. Susie is a lovely cat who deserves a stable home after all she has been through.
Maisie - is a young calico tortoiseshell cat. She was a stray and came to us with two kittens who have been rehomed. Maisie has been spayed and now needs a new home herself. She is a small, friendly cat who likes a fuss but does not get on with other cats - possibly as a result of having to protect her kittens from other neighbourhood cats.
Pepper & Spice - are beautiful 5 month old, brother and sister, ginger and white
kittens. They are very friendly but Spice does not appreciate other cats so they need a home together where
there are no other cats. They are typical kittens, very lively and playful. The only time when they could be
photographed together was while they were eating!
Susie - is a young black and white cat who was a stray in a village in Buckinghamshire. When she was found she had 3 kittens with her. The kittens have now been found new homes and Susie has been spayed. She is a lovely, playful young cat.
Gizzy & Tigger - are mother and daughter, both tortoiseshell and 7 and 6 years old. Originally rehomed as young cats by RSPCA they have spent the last two years living in their owner's garden after the owner acquired a dog. When they arrived they were quite traumatised so they need a quiet home with an understanding owner who will enjoy giving them another chance of a happy life.
Misty - is a handsome 2 year old grey male cat. He looks as though he may have some Burmese is his background but his parents were certainly not pedigree cats. Although Misty does not seem to enjoy sitting on laps for long he is really friendly, talkative and loves company. He is not used to living with children or other animals.
Jenny - is a delightful little black cat with big, beautiful eyes. She is 2 years old and would make a lovely family pet.
Badger - is an 8 year old black and white male cat. He has been used to living with an older person so would probably do best in a similar new home. He can be rather shy with strangers but is very friendly once he knows you. Then, he likes nothing better than a comfy lap!
Mittens - is a large 6 year old tabby and white male who has had a couple of homes already before coming into our care. He would flourish in a stable home, probably without children or other animals.
Barnaby - is a friendly longhaired black cat who was a stray in Sonning Common. We think he is about 2 years old. Barnaby has been waiting patiently for a new home for three months. Whilst he's well cared for in his cathouse he really would like to be in a proper home with a chance to go out and enjoy the summer weather.
Simba & Angel - are pretty unusual as they are both ginger and are brother and sister (ginger females are not very common). They are 2 years old and both very friendly. They are used to living with children and a dog so would make good family pets. They are to be rehomed together.
Poppy - is an 8 year old black and white female who has come into our care because her owner is going abroad. She is a little shy but is gaining confidence and will make a good companion. Poppy would probably not be suitable for a family with young children.
Smudge and Dottie - are a delightful pair of young cats. Both black and white, brother and sister, and about 18 months old. Smudge is very outgoing and adventurous while Dottie prefers to get to know you a little before demonstrating her affection.
Memphis and Tallulah - came into our care because of an allergy in the family. Memphis is tabby and white, 6 years old and quite a big chap while Tallulah is a petite grey and cream female aged 5.
They look like a bit of an odd couple but they are very much a pair and need a home
together. As neither cat had been neutered by their owner they were both bloodtested
for FIV/FeLV before being neutered. They are lovely, friendly cats but need a home without young children.
Rocky - is a neutered male about 2 years old. He is a lovely cat, very athletic looking, intelligent and alert and a really friendly chap. He was originally thought to be a stray. However, it was discovered that his previous owner had a new dog who Rocky wasn't very fond of and so he took to the streets to find himself a new home.
Sox - is a handsome, very friendly, black and white male cat, about 4 or 5 years old. He came to TVAW because his owner had died, the local council had closed up the house and Sox had been turned out on to the streets. Sox has been used to a quiet home but he is a very friendly, outgoing sort of chap who would probably adapt easily to a family home with older children.
Peaches - is an 8 year old tabby female (part Abyssinian). Peaches came to us for rehoming because her brother died and the other cats in the household started attacking her. She is a quiet little cat who is recovering from her ordeal but needs a new home without other animals.
Alfie and Sidney - are black and tabby brothers, about a year old. They were left behind when their owner moved away suddenly. They are lovely, friendly boys and need a home together.
Tigger - is an elderly ginger male cat, about 16 years old. He was rehomed by TVAW in 1998 and has sadly come back to us following the death of his owner. In view of his age Tigger will be rehomed under the "Golden Oldie" scheme which means that financial help will be available for any veterinary treatment he may require. Tigger is a lovely old boy who just needs a quiet home for his twilight years.
Topsy & Tim - are a pair of 11 month old tabbies. They are brother and sister and very fond of each other so need a new home together. They are really affectionate lapcats.
Benson - so called because he came to us from the village of Benson in Oxfordshire, after a life of crime, breaking into houses for food. As an unneutered stray he has been tested for FeLV and FIV and neutered. He is a handsome grey cat, about 5-6 years old, and very friendly. Benson loves people but would probably best suit a home with no young children and no other cats.
Flute and Clio - are a pair of 13 year old cats who will be rehomed under our "Golden Oldie" scheme which means that TVAW will pay for all reasonable veterinary costs in the future should either cat develop a health problem. Flute is a black and white male while his sister Clio is all black. They would probably appreciate a quiet home without young children and one where they can continue to enjoy spending some time outside in the garden in fine weather. Clio can be a bit shy with strangers and is frightened by loud noises while her brother Flute is very affectionate and rather more outgoing.
Misty - is a very affectionate 3 year old white and black female cat who sadly has come into our care because her owner could no longer afford to keep her.
Tipsy and Jinx - Tipsy is a friendly 3 year old female cat. She is mainly white with
ginger/tortie markings and tail and she has beautiful pale blue eyes. Jinx is a black 2 years old female cat. Both are friendly but Jinx would probably prefer a home without young children.
Oscar - the cat burglar, was a stray, unneutered male cat found in a village in Oxfordshire. He was desperate for food so was raiding houses through cat flaps and generally making a nuisance of himself. He has been blood tested for FIV/FeLV and neutered and is now ready for a new home. He is all black and about 4/5 years old. Oscar is a lively cat with lots of character.
Smudge - is a very lovely 7 year old black and white female cat who likes company. She has settled into her fosterhome very quickly showing a lot of affection towards the fosterer and her teenage children. However, we feel she would be best in a new home without young children who seem to upset her and make her anxious. Smudge would make a very good companion, perhaps for someone living one their own.
Ollie - is a lovely ginger male, 11 years old, who needs a home where he can be the centre of attention. He would make someone a very good companion because all he wants is fuss and food in that order! (Ref. hfh)
Susie - is a very small, black, female cat, 6 years old. Susie had been taken to a vet to be put to sleep but as she is a relatively young cat, in good health, the vets asked TVAW if we could find room for her. She is a little shy until she gets to know you but very sweet. Susie has lived with other animals and might get along with a quiet dog or cat.
Spike - is a very friendly tabby male, about 7/8 years old, with a fluffy coat. He is very affectionate and would make a very good companion.
Sasha - is a"Golden Oldie" cat which means that the charity will help with the cost of any
future veterinary treatment she may need.
Sasha is a 12 year old black and white female cat. She came to us with Fred, her son but as the two cats had not always lived together and did not get on together very well Fred has been rehomed separately. Sasha is a friendly, playful cat although she hates to be picked up. She has recently received dental treatment and is fit and healthy for her age.
Poppy - is a 3 year old white and tabby cat with a few spots of ginger as well. She came into our care last year, heavily pregnant. Her kittens were born here and have all now been rehomed. Poppy has been spayed and is now waiting for a new home herself. She would be best in a home without other cats.
May and Tara - are mother and daughter. May is 4 years old and tabby and white while Tara is 2 years old and a brown tabby. They are a lovely pair of cats, very friendly and very much a pair who want to stay together.
Whiskey - is a black female cat, 5 years old, whose elderly owner has had to go into full time care and sadly could not take her with her. She is very much a lap cat, used to having someone at home a lot and needs a fairly quiet home. She is having some dental work carried out but apart from that is in very good health.
Rhea - is a semi-longhaired tortoiseshell cat, about 10 to 12 years old. She has come into TVAW because her elderly owner can no longer care for her. She has had some dental work carried out but is in very good health for her age. She will be rehomed under our "Golden Oldie" scheme which means that the charity will help with the cost of future veterinary care. Rhea will need a quiet home but will make a good companion.
Tilly & Smudge - are mother and son. Tilly is 3 years old while Smudge is only 12 months old. They are both black and white cats. They are very friendly cats who purr a lot and get along well together.
Thomas - is a lovely longhaired ginger male. When he arrived he was in very poor condition, full of fleas. Thomas's coat was badly matted - it must have been really uncomfortable for him. An urgent trip to the vet was necessary where he had all of the mats shaved off and while under the anaesthetic had several teeth removed and a scale and polish! Thomas is now much happier and as he loves company is very impatient for a new home. We are not sure about his age - possibly about 9 years old.
Peter & Pippa - are mother and son. Pippa is a dark tortoiseshell, about 2 years old while Peter is a black and white boy, about 9 months old. They have only just arrived and are still rather timid but should be ready for a new home soon.
Trixie and Tess - a pair of 6 year tabby females who we think are sisters. They had had a very hard life until they came into our care, having been made to live outside in all weathers, with no shelter. We had been told that they were feral cats which needed a home on a farm but in fact they are lovely, friendly cats. If you want to "rescue" a couple of cats then these may be the ones for you!
Leo and Bella - were found abandoned in the garden of a pub in Oxfordshire just before Christmas. We think that they had been outside in the freezing cold and deep snow for some time before they were found as they were very weak. The owners of the pub fed them and gave them shelter in an outbuilding before calling TVAW. Leo is a lovely ginger boy while Bella is a dark tortoiseshell female. We think that they are about 2 years old. Although they were very nervous at first they have settled down now in their fosterhome and are very affectionate. They are both neutered.
Phoenix - is a lively, black and white male cat, just 12 months old. He is very friendly and would probably make a very good family pet.
Craig - is a black, 2 year old male cat. When he first came to us he seemed to be frightened of women for some reason but has now overcome this fear and is a lovely friendly boy.
Lily and Jet - are probably mother and son. Lily is about 3 years old, a beautiful, petite, longhaired grey female while Jet is a longhaired black boy, about 2 years old who loves nothing better than to head butt you. These cats had been abandoned by their owner and had been living outdoors before they came into our care. We believe that they have lived with young children.
Charley - is a white, longhaired, Persian type male cat about 7 years old. He was originally a stray so we do not know a lot about his background but he does not like children so needs a home with adults only and probably without other cats .
Layla - is a lovely, friendly tabby female cat, 5 years old. She originally came into our care because her owner moved into a flat and she was unhappy about not being able to go outside. Layla would probably make a good family pet with older children.
Maisie - is a 6 year old tortoiseshell cat who needs a home without young children or other cats. Maisie is a friendly and affectionate cat who loves to be stroked and made a fuss of but being a typical tortie will let you know when she wants to be left alone!
Fleur - is a 12 year old black and white cat who is to be rehomed under our Golden Oldie scheme which means that TVAW will pay for any reasonable veterinary treatment Fleur may need in the future. Fleur is a friendly cat but is used to a quiet home with an elderly lady.
Millie - is a really affectionate black and white cat, about 18 months old. She has lived with other cats and children but would probably appreciate a home where she is the centre of attention!
Ellie - is a friendly tortoiseshell cat who came to us in December with 4 kittens. The kittens have all been found good new homes. Ellie has been spayed but is still eagerly waiting for a home of her own.
Frankie - is a very friendly cat who was a stray in Reading. We think he is about 8 years old. He was in a pretty poor state when he arrived but is responding very well to treatment and should be ready for a new home very soon.
Bobby - was a young stray cat who has been tested for FIV/FeLV and neutered. He is a friendly boy but possibly too excitable for very young children. A family home with older children might be ideal for him
Paulo and Nino - are 11 month old brothers, very large, slightly oriental looking cats who need a new home after becoming jealous of a new baby in the family. They are fairly shy at the moment but basically friendly cats and should soon settle in a new home.
Felix - is a lovely young male cat, just over 12 months old. Felix is very lively and really adores people. He is jealous of any attention given to other cats so needs a home on his own. Felix is an intelligent cat and would soon become bored if left alone all day.
Lily & Harvey - are beautiful 8 month old tabby brother and a tortie sister cats. They have had a difficult start in life so need a fairly quiet home with a family with time to devote to them. We also have Timmy and Honey, another pair of tabby brother and sister cats from the same litter, also looking for a loving home together.
Teddy - was a stray cat in Caversham. He is a very friendly black male cat, probably about 4 years old. He has been tested for FIV/FeLV and neutered and is waiting for that special home to call his own
Georgie - is a young black male cat who had a very unhappy start in life having been rejected by his owners while still a kitten. Georgie was turned out and left to beg for food from neighbours. He is very timid with strangers but very affectionate once he gets to know you. He needs a quiet home with someone who will give him time to develop his trust in his new owner. He will also need time to get used to living in a house again and learn to understand that he is welcome there.
Misty - is a very friendly tortoiseshell and white cat who appears to have been abandoned when her owners moved house. We think she is about 6 years old.
Archie - is a 6 year old tabby and white cat. He is a very big cat but very much a gentle giant. As he's a bit of a couch potato he needs an owner who will encourage him to take more exercise! Archie does not like small children but he's a cat with lots of personality and wants to be the centre of attention.
Laki and Blinky - are a pair of 2 year old tortoiseshell sisters. They are lovely, friendly cats but are not used to young children.
Smudge - is a 5 year old, petite dark tortoiseshell. She is a very friendly cat but because of earlier experiences needs a home without young children.
Ruby - was a stray who was brought to us as a heavily pregnant female cat. However, after an examination and a dose of wormer her rounded tummy proved to be the result of a very heavy burden of worms, not a litter of kittens! Ruby is a very affectionate semi-longhaired black cat. We think she is about 3 years old.
Emmy Lou and Florence - both torties, Emmy Lou is one year old and Florence is 3 years old. They are lovely, friendly cats and need a home together.
Polly - is a very pretty and affectionate 7 year old cat who needs a home without other cats. She loves being made a fuss of and would make a very good family pet.
Jasmine - is a 9 year old British Blue Shorthair. She is friendly (despite the look on her face in the photo!) but needs a quiet home without other animals.
Poppet - is a lovely young black and white female. She was originally a stray but when we traced her owner they did not want to have her back again so she has been spayed and now needs a new home.
Lucy, Lilly and Layla - are a group of three female cats who have come to us from the same home. Ideally we would like to rehome them together but if that is not possible then perhaps Lucy could be rehomed on her own. Lucy is a black and two year old, Lilly is black and 12 months old while Layla is 18 months old and white and black. All three cats are friendly once they get to know you but can be shy with strangers. They are a lovely group of female cats who get along together very well, especially Lilly and Layla.
Fizz - is a 4 year old white and tabby female cat. She is very affectionate and loves people but does not want to share her home with other cats.
Tootsie - is a 2 year old grey and white female cat who came to us with two kittens which has now been found a good home. Tootsie is a lovely affectionate cat. She will be looking for a new home as soon as she has been spayed.
Midnight - is a black male cat who came to us as a stray. He required extensive dental work and treatment for a gum infection but he is now well, although lacking most of his teeth! We think Midnight is at least 10 years old. He is very friendly and talkative and would make a good companion.
Simba - is an all white male cat aged 12 who will be rehomed under our "Golden Oldie" scheme meaning that TVAW will pay for all reasonable veterinary costs in the future should he develop a health problem. Although he is white he is not deaf. He has lived with children and a dog and is a lovely, friendly cat.
Dizzy - is a long haired black and white female cat. She is a very friendly, talkative cat who loves company although not small children. She has lived with another cat but would probably be happier on her own. Dizzy was acquired seven years ago from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home but has not been happy following the arrival of young children in the family. Dizzy's new owner will have to groom her regularly - which she enjoys.
Percy - is a handsome black cat with lovely green eyes. He came to us originally as a stray so we are not sure about his age - perhaps 5 years old. He was rehomed but did not settle there. Percy adores people but is very jealous of other cats. He needs a home where there are no other cats (although a dog might be a possibility) and ideally owners who are not out at work all day. If he gets lonely he will go and seek out human company! A family home in the country would be ideal for him.
Fudge - is a gorgeous, affectionate 16 month old longhaired brown tabby and white female cat. She is a lovely cat who likes to be around people but we think she would be best in a home without any other animals.
Harry - was left behind when his owners moved away. He is a dark grey colour and probably about 3 years old. He is a very friendly, playful cat but is frightened of very young children. He would probably suit a family with older children.
Tess - is a very friendly longhaired tabby and white cat who was left behind when her owners moved away. We believe she is about 3 years old. She was terrorised by a dog in her old home so needs a home without dogs.
Pepper and Mercedes - are a lovely pair of one year old black sister cats. They have been used to an indoor home but would probably appreciate the chance to explore a garden.
Ruggy - is a quiet, friendly lap cat. She is 10 years old, black and longhaired. Ruggy is in very good health and would make a wonderful companion.
"Old Lady" - is a tabby female whose elderly owner has died. As she was a stray originally we are guessing at her age but we think she is about 12 years old. She is in good health and is a possible candidate for our Golden Oldie scheme under which financial help is available for future veterinary care.
Hilary - is homeless because her elderly owner has been admitted to a care home. Hilary is a lovely lapcat and would probably appreciate another quiet home. We think she is about 12 years old. She is in good health and is a possible candidate for our Golden Oldie scheme under which financial help is available for future veterinary care.
Boots and Ruby - are a pair of lovely two year olds. Boots is a pretty tabby while Ruby is black. They are very fond of each other and like to spend time cuddled up to each other. Boots and Ruby are gentle but playful cats.
Jade - came to us from the same home as Boots and Ruby but might appreciate a home on her own. She is a black one year old female cat. Although she is not very keen on being picked up she loves to play and be fussed.
Jake and Molly - are a pair of 8 year old cats who need a home together. Jake is a large, longhaired tabby who is a polydactyl (extra toes on his feet); Molly is a large tabby and white shorthaired cat. They are both very much lapcats and would make very good companions.
Minnie - is a tiny, very sweet black female who is probably about 10 to 12 months old. She was a stray, found with her leg through her collar. The collar was so tight it caused a nasty wound under her leg and left her barely able to swallow any food she could find. Minnie has recovered well from her ordeal and has been spayed but for some reason she is very frightened of men. Minnie therefore needs a home without any men and probably young children as well!
Jingle - is a handsome 9 year old black and white male cat. He needs a home without any other cats although he may be happy living with a quiet dog. We do not think he would be suitable for a home with young children.
Lucy - is an unusual cat. She was originally found abandoned in a cardboard box with two kittens last year. The kittens were rehomed, Lucy was spayed and she was eventually rehomed. Unfortunately the new owners already had a female cat and despite the owners best efforts the two cats just did not get on. So Lucy is homeless again. We think that Lucy is about 2 years old and must have some type of oriental breeding in her background. She is a lovely, friendly, talkative cat who now needs a home without other cats.
Bootsy - is an extremely lively boy, highly intelligent and a real character. Bootsy was originally taken to a vet by his owners who wanted to get rid of him, possibly by having him put to sleep. We were contacted and agreed to take him as, luckily for him, we had a space free. We think he is about 14 months old. Bootsy has been tested for FIV/FeLV and neutered. Although he probably would not like to live with another cat, expecting to be the centre of attention, he might enjoy the company of a dog.
Alfie and Georgie - a lovely pair of 3 year old cats, brother and sister. Alfie is black and white while Georgie is tabby and white. Their coats are semi-longhaired. Both enjoy being groomed although their coats are not the type to matt easily. However, Georgie does shed hair very easily. They are very small cats but enjoy hunting. They can be quite shy at first but very friendly once they get to know you. A quiet home would probably suit them best.
Sooty and Gizmo -are a pair of 12 month old male cats who need a home together. Sooty is all black while Gizmo is black and white. They are lovely, friendly cats.
Tommy - was a long term stray in Reading. He was entering houses through cat flaps to find food and generally making a nuisance of himself. We provided a trap and Tommy was soon caught, tempted by some tasty food. He was blood tested for FeLV/FIV and neutered and then collected from the vet by our fosterer. The photo shows him soon after he arrived. He's a much happier looking cat now but he's had a hard life and it shows. We think he is about 9 or 10 years old. If you want to "rescue" a cat Tommy is the one for you!
Chess - is a large, handsome 3 year old longhaired black and white male cat. He is very much a gentle giant and would make a good pet for a family with older children. Chess will need to be groomed regularly.
Cuddles - is a 2 year old "calico" tortoiseshell. She is a lovely, friendly cat, very playful but is easily frightened. We think she would be very happy to live with another young cat, preferably a neutered male.
Tom and Gerrie - are a pair of black 3 year old brother and sister cats whose owner has emigrated. They are both very friendly but Gerrie is frightened by young children.
Lulu - is a two year old tabby cat. She is terrified of children but as long as she cannot see or hear any children she is friendly and playful.
Biscuit - is a 2 year old dark tortoiseshell female cat. She is a little overweight at the moment and will need to go on a diet! Biscuit is friendly but has been used to a quiet home with a single man so may not suit a family.
Sugar and Spice - are two pretty tortoiseshell female cats, between 2 and 3 years old. They are lovely, friendly cats and need a home together.
Poppy - is a 10 month old tortoiseshell and white cat. She is rather shy at the moment and would probably appreciate a quiet home without other animals. The photo shows a sleepy Poppy soon after she was spayed.
Leo - is a friendly white cat with lovely blue eyes ( not deaf!). He was left behind when his owners moved and was in a pretty awful state when we took him in. He has been blood tested for FeLV/FIV, neutered, and treated for ticks, worms and fleas with which he was heavily infested. He is now putting on weight with three good meals a day and is ready for a new home but probably without other cats or young children.
Polly and Bubbles - are 12 year old tabby and white sisters who are exceptionally friendly, very much lap cats and used to children.
Freddy, Felix and Flash - are three black and white young male cats who need a home. We would like to be able to rehome them together but as that is unlikely to happen they will probably have to be rehomed as a pair with one going, hopefully, to a home where there is another young cat.
Molly & Millie - are 6 month old dark tortoiseshell sisters who are very friendly and are looking for a home together.
William and Monty- are big, cuddly, tabby brothers. We think they are about 7 years old. They have only just arrived and are rather worried about no longer being wanted and ending up in a rescue. They really are just two gentle giants.
Tash - is a part Burmese semi-longhaired tabby female. Tash is 15 years old and is now homeless following the
sudden death of her owner. Tash is a small cat but very lively. She still enjoys hunting and generally being out
and about. She is very vocal and loves company but is jealous of other cats.
In view of Tash's age she will be rehomed under our "Golden Oldie" scheme which means that financial help will be available
for any future veterinary treatment.
Polly and Bubbles - a pair of 12 year old tabby and white sisters who are very much lap cats. They are used to children so would make great family pets. They are to be rehomed together.
Oliver - a handsome young ginger and white cat who was a stray in Reading. He is very friendly and loves people. A great character.
Blu and Lennox - are 8 years old brother and sister. They have always lived as indoor cats but as they are overweight they might benefit from getting some outdoor exercise!
Tom - is a 9 year old ginger boy who will need a new home shortly when his owners move and cannot take him with them. He can be a little timid until he gets to know you but after that he's a real character and loves people.
Buffy - is a gentle, playful and affectionate four year old female cat. Buffy would probably make a very good family pet but would not be happy living with dogs. She is a very good hunter so her new owner would not have to mind the odd mouse or two being brought back home!
Poppy - is a lovely, longhaired, 3 year old black cat. Although longhaired her coat is very fine and does not matt but she will need some grooming. Poppy is a sensitive soul who is very friendly once she gets to know you and would make a very good companion. She would be best rehomed to a quiet home without children or other animals.
Lucy - is a pretty grey and beige cat, about 18 months old. She was found dumped in a cardboard box along with several young kittens earlier this year. All of Lucy's kittens have now been found good homes and Lucy has been spayed. She is a very friendly, chatty cat and loves company but would probably be happiest in a home without other cats or dogs.
Merlin - is a very friendly and playful 8 month old male cat. Being white and blue eyed Merlin is deaf. He has always lived indoors and being deaf we would like to rehome him as an indoor cat for his own safety. Merlin is a young, energetic cat who would be happy living with children. His long coat does need brushing regularly but he enjoys this.
Albert - is one of our "Golden Oldie" cats. A long term stray in Reading, he was caught, blood tested, neutered and his few remaining teeth removed! Albert is tabby and probably about 12/13 years old. After spending such a long time as a stray he deserves a good home for his retirement. Financial help will be available with any future veterinary costs.
Daisy - is a "special needs" cat. She is now 9 years old but when she was a kitten her left front leg grew to be about 2 inches longer than her right leg. Daisy can walk well enough and does not have any problems health-wise but she cannot climb trees or fences. Because of her disability she prefers to use a litter tray indoors. Daisy is a lovely, friendly cat who would be happy either as an indoor cat or with some access to a secure garden. She loves people and would probably prefer a quiet home where someone is at home much of the time. She would not be happy living with other cats or dogs.
Leo - is a young ginger male cat who was a stray in Reading. He has been neutered and is now ready for a new home. He's a very friendly boy but probably needs a home without any other cats.
Lucy - is a young female cat who came to us with two kittens. Her kittens have now been rehomed. Lucy is only about a year old and very playful. She would make a very good family pet.
Buffy - was a stray cat in Cholsey. He is an exceptionally friendly ginger and white male cat, about 4 years old. He probably needs a home without other cats but would probably make a very good family pet. He has little or no sight in his left eye, possibly due to an old injury or infection, but needs no treatment at the moment. If he should require treatment in the future financial assistance may be available from the charity.
Blu and Lennox - are 8 year old cats, brother and sister who are indoor cats and need a home together. Lennox suffers from feline asthma and needs a steroid injection every 6 weeks to keep it under control. Financial assistance may be available from the charity towards the cost of this.
Freya and Perdita - are lovely friendly cats. Perdita is mainly black with just a touch of white and is about one year old. She came to us with four kittens who are all ready to go to new homes now. Perdita will be spayed as soon as her milk has dried up. She also came with her friend, Freya. Although probably not related Freya has helped Perdita raise her kittens. Freya is tabby and white and probably a little older than Perdita. When she arrived it was obvious that she was suffering from skin cancer in one ear. The white part of her ear with the cancer has been removed and there should not be any problems in the future.
Jamie - is a retired gentleman of the road. He is a handsome ginger boy who spent several years terrorising
the cats in his area in his quest for food. When we finally managed to catch him he was bloodtested for FeLV/FIV,
neutered and treated for a painful ear infection. He is now settling down and getting used to three good meals a
day with no one shouting at him or chasing him. Because of his past life he needs a home as an only cat.
Update 8/08 Jamie is a very contented cat, loves people and is very grateful for a warm, dry bed to sleep in and regular meals. A lovely boy who deserves a good home at long last
Freddie - is a very friendly 4 year old black male (part Burmese) whose elderly owner is no longer able to care for him. Freddie is a lovely boy but is not used to living with other cats or young children.
Holly - is an exceptionally friendly, very pretty tabby and white two year old cat. She is used to living with children and will make a very good family pet. However, she does like to be the centre of attention so would not be happy sharing her home with another cat.
Toffee - is a very friendly longhaired male cat who was originally a stray. When he arrived he needed treatment for an abscess on a tooth but he is now ready for a new home.
Muffin - is a 9 year old female indoor cat who would like to have a home where she is the only cat in the household and therefore the centre of attention!
Junior - is a 9 year old female indoor cat. She's small and cuddly with a loud purr. She would prefer a home without other cats.
Felix - is an exceptionally friendly black and white male cat. He was a stray so we are guessing at his age - probably about 4/5 years old. He's a lovely cat who would be great company but he would like to be the centre of attention in his new home and would not appreciate other cats sharing his home with him! He might get on with a quiet dog.
Millie – is a very small black female who was a stray. She’s no longer in the prime of life and being treated for hyperthyroidism but otherwise in good health. The only treatment she needs is two tablets a day which she takes very readily wrapped up in a piece of ham! A lively little cat who will be rehomed under our Golden Oldie scheme which means help will be available for future veterinary costs. All she needs is a comfy lap and the chance to enjoy strolling around a garden again.
Smokey - came to us when his elderly owner died. He is about 18 months old and a tabby. He's a lovely, friendly cat but would be happiest in a home without young children or other animals.
Eric – is a very friendly 8 year old ginger cat who will make a wonderful family pet. Eric loves a cuddle and being made a fuss of.
Honey – is a pretty ginger female cat who has lived with a family although she’s not used to young children.
She will be two years old in August. Honey dislikes all other cats so needs a home on her own and preferably in an area where there are not many cats in the immediate neighbourhood.
Max - is a very large, friendly, black longhaired cat, 3 years old. He loves company and might settle with another cat or a friendly dog.
Stella & Fudge - are a pair of 8 year old sisters. Stella is white while Fudge is a cream colour. Beautiful, friendly cats who would make good family pets.
Tosca – is a young grey and white longhaired cat. His coat was very matted so has been shaved. He looks a little odd at the moment but will be very handsome when the coat grows back!
Millie – is a very small black female, probably about 5 years old. She adores people but sometimes objects to being picked up, possibly because of how she was treated in her previous home. Millie came to us as a stray.
Smudge – is an 18 month old tortoiseshell cat who is very friendly but needs a home without other animals.
Tilly and Toby – are a pair of lovely, friendly black cats. They are 5 and 9 years old, very playful and affectionate.
Tanga – is a very pretty 2 year old tortoiseshell cat. She is very affectionate but would not be happy in a home with other animals or young children.
Harvey – is a very handsome, slightly built, 4 year old ginger cat who needs a fairly quiet home. He is not used to children although he has lived with another cat.
Sammy – is a 3 year old longhaired black and white cat whose elderly owner has died. He is used to a quiet home. Although worried by losing his owner and his home he is a friendly cat and should soon settle into a suitable new home. Sammy might be happy with other cats but not dogs.

Oliver - is a handsome all ginger male cat who had been a stray near Reading for probably a long time. He has tested negative for FIV/FeLV and has been neutered. Max and Lulu – are 6 year old brother and sister, brown tabby cats. Friendly cats who have been homeless twice in their lives through no fault of their own. Max is very talkative and loves attention. Lulu can be shy with strangers but is friendly once she gets to know you. We do not think Lulu would appreciate a home with young children.

for a home with her last remaining kitten, a female who is white with a small amount of tabby markings.
We have recently discovered that Pixie's kitten, which is now 5 months old, is deaf, although Pixie herself is not deaf. We are looking for a safe home for them both where there is very little traffic.

very hard life so far, living as a stray in Maidenhead for about a year. As a result he was very
frightened of people when he arrived. He is now much better but he is liable to forget his manners
sometimes! Sylvester is a cat with lots of character but he definitely needs an experienced and
understanding owner with no children or other cats.
UPDATE: Sylvester's manners have improved tremendously whilst he has been in our care. He really is a
lovely cat. If you would like a cat with loads of character he's the cat for you
Ginger – is a lovely ginger male with lots of character. He has lived in Twyford for over 10 years,
being fed by a succession of people but never with a home of his own. As a result he is quite
nervous of strangers but once he trusts you he is delightful. He is getting used to the idea that it is
OK for him to be in a house after all these years but he will need a quiet home with someone who
will give him the time to settle into a new environment. Ginger is probably about 12 years old. He
really deserves a good home in which to spent his old age.
Todd - is a really friendly black and white male cat who was a stray in Reading. He is FIV/FeLV
negative. He has had a tough life so far and needs a home without other animals where he can be
the centre of attention.

Once he is settled in a home he is the type of cat who is friendly towards his owners but
disappears at the first sign of visitors!
Lulu - is an elderly, black and white, longhaired female cat. When she came into our care she
had to be shaved because her coat was so badly matted. She is suffering from hyperthyroidism and

warm and comfy lap for her twilight years.

ginger and white tortie. We believe they are brother and sister. Both are very friendly and used to
living with dogs.

old female. Both of these cats come from the same home as Simba and Suzie , are very friendly
and fine with dogs.
Precious - We are looking for a very specific home for a young cat ( 6 months old) called Precious
who suffers from Cerebellar ataxia or wobbly kitten syndrome. Her head shakes and her back legs
are very wobbly but she is a very lively and affectionate young cat. Her condition is not likely to
worsen; it may improve a little with time; it should not lead to further health problems and she is
expected to have a fairly normal life span. As her balance is affected by her condition we feel that
an indoor home with controlled access to a secure garden would be ideal. Our ideal home for her
would be with someone who is at home a lot as she likes to have company. She is happy with
other cats but controlled access to the outside could be a problem. We do not think she would not
be suitable for a family with young children.
